If ever you see Dalai Lama’s picture you will find him with a smile on his face. He has given us this amazing book which tells why we are unhappy and why we are suffer. This is an incredible work on understanding one man’s life of happiness. It will show you that happiness is available to you in spite of problems and people.

2. FLOW BY MIHALY CSIKSZENTMIHALYI
Flow is an engaging book, packed with information and new ways of thinking about life. Csikszentmihalyi has spent his professional life researching happiness, and his conclusions have led him to believe (with considerable evidence) that most people are happiest at these times when they are stretching themselves to achieve something.

3. Being Happy!, Andrew Matthews

I love this book for two reasons. 1. Andrew really understands happiness and lectures on the art of being happy.
2. He has made it more fun than any other book I have ever read on happiness. You will have fun and learn that being happy works.

4. Climb your Stairway to Heaven, 9 habits of Maximum Happiness, David Leonhardt
It is truly a wonderful book, full of insights by an author and his wife discovering and living the principles of happiness in their daily lives. As David says in his book and I quote him, “You control your happiness. It really is your choice.” No smarter words were ever written by anyone. David knows happiness, he and his wife live it every day. Best of all he is teaching you how to be happy.

5. THE HAPPINESS PROJECT: OR WHY I SPENT A YEAR TRYING TO SING BY GRETCHEN RUBIN

It’s a great book by Rubin which where one day she realized that she wasn’t spending time on what really mattered and time was quickly running out. Ever had that feeling? I know I have. Gretchen Rubin tells the story of how she decided to make changes in her life. Over twelve months, she used ancient wisdom coupled with current scientific research to find out what makes us truly happy. And the conclusion? Well, I won’t spoil it for you but she realizes that even small changes can make a big difference. Most of us don’t gather the courage to make a change in their life to be happy and achieve what actually makes them happy, they simply be the part of rat race. It is a very encouraging book which one must read.

6. What Happy People Know, Dan Baker, Ph.D.
This book is excellent because Dan Baker is another person that personally understands happiness. His understanding of fear and it’s connection to happiness is wonderful. Dan does a great job of allowing us to really understand happiness and it’s connection to spirituality.
