Ways to relieve severe foot pain

Most of the people at some point of their life undergoes foot pain. Foot pain can be in entire foot, top of the foot, arch of the foot, ball of the foot, bottom of the foot or in the heels.

Foot pain can be because of several reasons like tight shoes, high heels, virus, fungi, bacteria, diabetes, arthritis and gout are some of the common reasons which aggravate foot pain.

Try some of the following suggestions to get relief from the severe foot pain.
1)Foot Massage- It’s an excellent way to make your feet feel comfortable and relaxed. Massage with thick creams and essential oils give better results. Massage yourself or get it done from someone for better relief or use electric foot massager. Massage improves blood circulation and stimulate nerves and provides relieve from acute pain.

2) Warm water dip-Epsom salt- to make your feet relaxed better dip them in warm water. Heat of water will increase the blood flow to the pain foot and relieves injury by healing the tissues. It is better to add salt or Epsom salt as salt will draws out any excess moisture, alleviating pressure and relieves pain.

3) Ice- According to the American Podiatric Medical Association, icing can relieve foot pain by temporarily numbing the nerve that cause pain and relieve the pain. Icing an injured foot can also reduce swelling. Each icing session should not exceed ten minutes otherwise it will not be good for nerves and skin.

4) Tennis ball- yes that small tennis ball can give relief to your feet. You have to simply roll your strained foot slowly on it while rolling you will find the exact aching spot and then keep pressing the sore spot to get rid of the pain.

5) Exercise -three types of exercise are recommended-
Stretching- To get relief, stretch the Achilles tendon. Stand about three feet from a wall. Place your hands on the wall, and move your right leg forward, knee bent. Keep your left leg straight, with your heel on the floor. You should feel a gentle stretch in your heel and foot arch. Hold for 10 seconds, then switch sides and repeat.
Elevate- while lying on the bed raise your feet on the pillow.
Ankle rotation- slow ankle rotation is recommended.

6) Comfortable shoes - High heels are the most common cause of sore foot. They force you to put pressure of your whole body on your toes. You have to be very careful while choosing the correct shoes.Flat shoes or flip flops are not very good for your feet.

7) Pedicure- pedicure not only clean your feet but also treats sore foot . In pedicure you soak your feet in warm water which is quiet relaxing and remove dead skin which again gives you comfort and little foot massage at the end makes your feet light and relaxed . It is best cure for stressed sore feet.

8) Insert- Today in market different Shoe inserts, or orthotics for the shoes are available . They provide cushion to arch of foot, ball of foot or heels. For flat feet, you can use an insert created especially to reduce the strain on the ligaments.

9) Nutrition- good diet is very important and special attention should be given to calcium and Vitamin D if you are having pain in the foot. Low your sodium and sugar intake. nutrition is important for the feet and it relieves from gout foot pain.
